Kathmandu: Today, Nepal commemorates the 60th Civil Service Day with a series of events organized throughout the country. Despite the establishment of the civil service in Nepal six decades ago, the formal celebration of this day began on Bhadau 22, 2062, marking its significance in the nation's history.

Back in Bhadau 22, 2013, under the leadership of then-Prime Minister Tanka Prasad Acharya, the Civil Service Act was introduced. Nepal officially commenced the annual celebration of Civil Service Day on this very date in 2062.

With approximately 83,000 dedicated civil servants serving the nation, the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration has coordinated various activities to mark this occasion.

The day's festivities include a morning rally and the presentation of awards to outstanding civil servants, recognizing their invaluable contributions to the nation.
